Doggy Has It is owned and run by Anja, a lifelong animal lover who comes from a family of dog trainers and has spent her career giving dogs (especially the ones nobody else wants) a real chance. In 2016, she turned her 5-acre homestead on the west side of Elgin into a nature-first retreat for boarding and daycare, complete with prairie trails and an agility playground. No cages, no warehouse kennels - just real space, real attention, and real care.

For dogs who'd rather skip the wild free-for-all, daycare here means walks, enrichment, and a calm, consistent routine that helps dogs build real friendships and settle in fast.
Anja's nonprofit rescue gives senior and hard-to-place dogs a second chance through fostering and fospice care, and a few times a year she travels to Aruba to help spay, neuter, and treat the island's street dogs.
